The US indexes, especially the SP500 is still traded by robots which take the indexes up and down in wild swings since US has opened and even in the beginning of the Asia session. The problem for analyst like me is to often guess what is next because no technical rules as in Europe functions at present. However the daily chart trend cannot be manipulated on close and the daily trends are the same for SP500, DOW, FTSE and DAX. SWED is trading between its falling 8 MA and rising 21 MA.
The daily trend is still creeping upwards for the main indexes and I am searching for the point where they will turn down. Since SP500 is the strongest and biggest I follow that in detail, but the robots make it difficult. This morning for instance SP500 started a powerful rally to far above 768 to try to take out eventual short positions since the top. DAX and FTSE close at 22.00 so on opening in Europe we got this big gap for the DAX.
The US bond market seems to be dominated by the biggest investments fonds right now which easily can take the bond prices up or down on slow trading days and I have a feeling that they do that. Only a suspicion with no ground. Anyway the 10 year bonds are being followed by all traders and robots. You can see the daily and 2 hr charts now with no clear direction so far.
